J.S. Bach's "Goltberg Variations," a work that begins and ends with a 32-bar aria, during which 30 variations on the aria's 32-note bass theme are developed, performed by pianist Laguna Schirmer for a small audience on November 1, 2020, during a pandemic Live Recording. When Schirmer was 13 years old and said she wanted to try Chopin's complete Etudes, her piano teacher suggested she try the Golberg Variations if she wanted to tackle a large work. In 2020, the corona virus swept the world, and even in Germany, the lockdown lasted for months. The lockdown lasted for months. Concerts were temporarily resumed in the summer, but numbers were limited and only about 30 people were allowed to attend her concerts.She felt that the number "30" was similar to the 30 variations of Golteberg, and she played each variation with the intention of dedicating it to each audience member, often playing the entire piece five times a day. Then, in October 2020, the lockdown loomed again, so she performed the "Golberg Variations" for a handful of audiences on November 1, and that was the last performance of the 2020/21 season and the final concert of the season.
