After a series of major recordings on the DHM label, Zeffiro, one of Italy's most venerable old instrument groups, returned to the Arcana label in 2013. It is clearly an "incident" that they have finally recorded the entire "Brandenburg Concerto," the pinnacle of Bach's ensemble music, after a wealth of performance experience. While the overall sound is up-tempo and thrilling, the sound production at the considerably low pitch of a'=398 Hz has a calm sound that cannot help but catch the ear. The details of the music are carefully interpreted. It is also a pleasure to hear the small "Orchestral Suite No. 2" with flute solo, which was not included in the previously released Orchestral Suite (A400) recordings. The most remarkable thing about this album is the splendid lineup of soloists.Alongside the orchestra's well-known and extremely talented musicians such as Marcello Gatti on flute (traverso) and Cassone on trumpet, the founding members of the oboe and bassoon ensembles will also be very active, and the recorder will be played by Oberlinger, who has an overwhelming presence as a soloist!
