The second collection of Brahms works by noted Brahms player, Akimi Fukuhara Play the works of the young Brahms on a Bechstein! Pianist Akimi Fukuhara, who has been focusing on Brahms performances in recent years, will release her second album on the ACOUSTICREVIVE label in December 2025, with "Brahms Readers: Upper and Lower Volumes" (Michael Musgrave, Koji Amasaki, and Akimi Fukuhara) from Ongaku no Tomo Publishing Co.Following the previous release (AR-1003), which featured Brahms' later works, this release features Brahms' early works. The main work is the epic Piano Sonata No. 3, and the program also includes Clara Schumann's "Variations on a Theme by Schumann," which was written around the same time, piano arrangements of Brahms' early songs, and "Theme and Variations," which Brahms himself arranged from the String Sextet. The program gives a sense of connection throughout.The score for R. Keller's arrangement of "To the Aeolian Harp" was made available through the cooperation of the Institute of Musicology at the University of Kiel, Germany, which compiles the new complete works of Brahms. This is the world premiere recording. The piano is a Bechstein, and together with the high quality recording that only this label can provide, you can fully enjoy the music of the young Brahms with its beautiful sound.It is also noteworthy that the recording engineer is the legendary Tomoo Suzuki, a master recording engineer who started his career at CBS Sony and continues to work at the forefront.
