Beethoven and Tchaikovsky by Reinsdorf, who succeeded Munsch as music director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra from 1962 to 1969. However, Reinsdorf consequently gave only 14 subscription performances with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and it is not clear whether they maintained close ties. Nevertheless, this 1969 Tchaikovsky performance, already coveted by many, offers a fresh interpretation and surprisingly robust conducting from Reinsdorf.
