The performance has been regarded as a quiet performance, but the improved sound quality has reaffirmed that it is a dynamic performance cooked at a slow, deliberate tempo. Svetlanov is not a sketchy conductor, but excels in an analytical approach reminiscent even of Celibidacke, carefully deciphering Debussy's intricate orchestration.
