Description:

Nézet-Séguin and Galancha make their double debut on the theme of French music. Along with the New Year's Concert, the Vienna Philharmonic Summer Night Concert is an open-air concert held at Schönbrunn Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This year marks the first appearance of Yannick Nézet-Séguin, who is music director of the Philadelphia Orchestra and Metropolitan Opera and has a close relationship with the Vienna Philharmonic. This year's theme is "The Best of French Music. This year's theme is "The Best of French Music," which traces the fascination of the colorful and emotionally rich music of the French Romantic and Impressionist eras through a diverse program that ranges from Bizet to Boulanger. The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra's virtuoso performances of Ravel's famous "Daphnis et Chloe" and "Bolero" are included in the program. Soloists for the three operatic arias will be Latvian-born Elina Galancha, also making her concert debut. The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra will be giving their all in this open-air concert, and the evening will be filled with colorful early-summer colors. Sony Music
