<40th anniversary of Klaus Nomi's death> Commemorative first album Born on January 24, 1944 in Bavaria, Germany. Trained as an opera singer, he moved to New York in 1973. Wearing thick white makeup and outlandish clothes, he quickly became a fixture on the underground scene in the early 1980s, performing original songs and covers of quirky arrangements of everything from arias to pop music as a countertenor. David Bowie heard rumors of his performance and asked him to design costumes and sing in the back chorus for a special on NBC TV's "Saturday Night Live. He released his first album in 1981 and his second in 1982, but by this time, AIDS had already taken its toll on his body. To commemorate the 40th anniversary of his death, his works are reissued. This is his memorable 1st album released in 1981.The album includes 10 songs, including his signature song "Total Eclipse" and "Cold Song," a cover of a song by baroque composer Henry Purcell.
