The night when both rapture and anguish were painfully depicted, Kegel made an overwhelming impression on the audience. In Kegel's performance, just as the joy is about to be depicted with all its might, a breakdown or contradiction occurs. Because of these failures and contradictions, the rapture and triumphs are not reduced to mere skeletons, and instead of being painful, they acquire a strong sense of reality. The concert from 1989, one year before Kegel took his own life, was recorded in its entirety, including the impressive encore. The sound has been re-mastered in 2023 using the latest technology to improve the spaciousness and airiness of the sound, and to delicately express the overtones as they beautifully fade into the sky.
