A hope for the future and a requiem for the past", leading contemporary electronica/post-rock artist Tycho is releasing his new album "Infinite Health" in 2024! Tico, one of the leading electronica/post-rock artists of our time and a two-time Grammy nominee, releases his latest album "Infinite Health" on the NINJA TUNE label. Scott Hansen, a.k.a. Tico, describes the theme of this album as "a hope for the future and a requiem for the past." Since starting the project in 2001, Scott Hansen has continued to evolve Tico's sound in his own unique style. In the process, he has received two Grammy nominations and collaborated with countless artists, including Odesza, Maggie Rogers, Little Dragon, Leon Bridges, and Death Cab for Cutie. Now, Tycho has entered a new phase with the completion of his new album, Infinite Health, which follows sister works Weather in 2019 and Simulcast in 2020.In the recording process for this album, which also features Grizzly Bear's Chris Taylor as a co-producer, Scott says that individuality and brevity were the goals." The overall concept, he explains, was to "stay true to our roots, but sound as different as possible. Sound-wise, the band returned to an electronic-based style, with an emphasis on breaks, drums, and rhythmic elements. Melodies are added to follow these elements. The lead single, "Phantom," shines so brightly that Scott says it is his favorite song on the album. The upbeat track, with its rainbow-colored, '80s-style visuals, incorporates Tico's trademark sound with the neon noir of Italo disco. The domestic CD will include an additional bonus track, "Phantom Prologue," and will include an instructional booklet.
