It is said that Granados' "Goyescas" was inspired by Goya's art, and it is a large piece of music that he poured his heart and soul into completing. It is complex in content and requires the highest degree of technical skill. With the exception of "Straw Dolls," which was added to the program later, Perez will present six pieces in all, giving us an interpretation directly from his former teacher La Rocha.The rhythmic quality that is the lifeblood of Spanish music shines through, and the chic verses are sigh-inducingly charming.
