He studied under Olivier Latry, Michel Chapille, and Michel Bouvard, and was organist at Notre Dame Cathedral for 12 years. He is a master of French chic. Maire took on Bach's organ masterpieces on the large organ in the Sainte-Croix church in Aubusson. This instrument, built by Gerard Gilman in 1982, was intended to reproduce the 18th century Zilberman organ, which is exactly what it does, and the rich sound can be enjoyed to the fullest.
