The 13th volume of the "BOX Set" series, in which the journalists of Diapason select the performances to be recorded, is the first volume of Verdi's operas! Following Mozart (DIAPCF 004) and Puccini (DIAPCF 010), this is the third opera box set from the Diapason label, which includes five Verdi operas: "Aida", "Don Carlo", "Falstaff", "La Forza del Destino" and "Otello". The recording of "Don Carlo" includes two different performances, one by Charles Brook & RTF Orchestra (recorded in 1961) and the other by Kurt Adler & MET (recorded in 1955), and it will be a pleasure to compare the two "Don Carlo" recordings recommended by Diapason.
