Description:
Finally a reissue of an independent record of proto-house Afro-pop music from Equatoguinea, Madrid, which rarely appears on the used market nowadays! Equatorial Guinean-born musician/poet Norberto De Nöah relocated to Madrid, and after working with the band Nohkis, released his first solo album in 1988 on his own label, Kilimanjaro Productions, which is finally being reissued. On this album, Norberto wrote, arranged, and produced all the songs, sang by himself, and played all the instruments. He skillfully manipulates a vast array of live instruments and electronic instruments such as the RX-5 drum machine and D-50 synthesizer, and sublimates the traditional music of his own Bubi roots, said to be the oldest people in the world, combining it with funk, R&B, Latin music, and a wide range of African and Caribbean rhythms. The sound is indescribable and overwhelmingly original, with its indigenous nature, Balearic flutes, ethereal choruses, tribal beats, and proto-house production.Mixing the traditional, the radical, and the avant-garde in a spontaneous and natural way, this album has been described as "a perfect combination of all the characteristics that characterized the Afro-pop music of Equatoguinea made in Madrid in the 1980s. It is a perfect combination of all the characteristics that characterized the Afro-pop music of Equatorial Guinea made in Madrid in the 1980s. It is a world heritage piece that needs to be passed down to the present day, both for its introduction of Guinean music to the Spanish public and for the success of an African music project that uses Spanish and Bubeh in an African market where English and French are the dominant languages. Limited edition of 500 copies. Original artwork with 14-page insert poster. The number of items in stock has not yet been determined due to the limited availability of this product.
