II" is the second album by Champlin Williams Friestedt (CWF), a super group of AOR legends including Bill Champlin (ex-Chicago) and Joseph Williams (TOTO), featuring superb twin vocals, superb melodies, and precise sound-making. A perfect AOR album full of masterpieces, featuring ex-Chicago vocalist Bill Champlin and Joseph Williams, known as the lead singer of TOTO. Champlin-Williams-Freistedt, a super band formed by these two AOR legends and Peter Freistedt, a Scandinavian AOR creator/guitarist who has unlimited respect and admiration for the West Coast sound of the '80s, will release their second album "II". This album, the first in four and a half years since their first album "CWF" in 2015, features AOR legends such as Michael McDonald, Randy Goodrum, and John Robinson, all of whom are well-known to Japanese fans.The band's perfect contemporary AOR, reminiscent of the West Coast scene in the 80s, is highlighted by the superb twin vocals, superb melodies, and meticulous sound production. Born in 1947, Bill Champlin joined Chicago in 1982 with the release of "Chicago 16. He is also known as the co-writer of "After the Love Has Gone" (Earth, Wind & Fire) and "Turn Your Love Around" (George Benson). He is also known as a co-writer. Joseph Williams, born in 1960, whose father is the master of film music John Williams ("Star Wars," "Harry Potter," etc.), is known as the lead singer of TOTO. He joined TOTO in 1986 with "Fahrenheit" and remained as the third generation vocalist of TOTO until the release of "The Seventh One - The Seventh Sword" in 1988.Steve Lukather, an original member of TOTO, famously said, "Joseph is the only TOTO vocalist besides Bobby [Kimball] who really deserved to be a TOTO vocalist" (out of the many singers of the past). He has continued to work with the band after they sent their fans into a frenzy, and it is still fresh in our minds that he visited Japan for the 40th anniversary tour of their debut in 2019. Peter Friestedt from Sweden, who is teaming up with these AOR legends, was born in 1973, a generation or two younger than Bill and Joseph. He became a musician after falling in love with their music as a boy, and it is sure to be exciting to see him inherit the AOR of those days to the next generation along with these legends!
