This is the Sony Classical debut album by Spanish pianist Ignacio Cambra. The album consists of four improvisations by Schubert and Chopin, respectively, with one nocturne by Chopin in between, and is titled "Spaces Spaces. Cambra, 33, was born in Barcelona in 1989. Blind from birth, he began playing the piano at the age of 6, revealing his musical talent; at 17 he was preparing for a degree in business administration, but was awarded a scholarship to study piano in the United States, graduating from the Juilliard School of Music in New York and the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he studied with Edward Auer, Menahem Pressner, Jerome Lowenthal, and other pianists and teachers, and received his master's degree. Since then, he has performed at internationally renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Kennedy Center, the Ravinia Music Festival, the Musica de Catalunya, and the Gran Teatre del Liceu, where he received high acclaim. He has also been recognized by Maria Joan Piris and has given several duo recitals with her. She has also performed with world-class conductors and orchestras, including the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra conducted by Gergiev.Gergiev also praised Cambra, saying, "Ignacio speaks to me through the piano.
