His 1992 album *Cobalt Blue*, released on 4AD, is a timeless masterpiece composed of quiet, breathtaking soundscapes that has been increasingly reevaluated over the years. The album features ambient pioneer Brian Eno, composer and multi-instrumentalist Roger Eno, and Grammy-winning producer Daniel Lanois. Recorded later that same year, *Live at the Aquarium* captures a rare solo performance in London, showcasing Michael Brook’s signature hypnotic sustain, expansive textures, and a deep, atmospheric soundscape. The seven years between the release of his 1985 debut album *Hybrid* and his 1992 second album *Cobalt Blue*. Michael Brook signed with *Opal*, Brian Eno’s label and management company, and moved from his hometown of Toronto to the UK. Through collaborations with Eno and Lanow, tours with John Hassell, and participation in the legendary live project *Opal Evenings* alongside Roger Eno, Harold Budd, and Lalaaji, he pioneered new experimental frontiers in live looping, sequencers, and sound processing. However, shortly after the completion of *CobaltBlue*, Opal lost its distribution deal, and the release was canceled. (1/2)
