Life Is Yours is full of the prototypical FOALS-style hooks, with disco-inspired guitar cuts, syncopated rhythms, and house party chaos. It confirms their further evolution, which The Times (UK) described as "reminiscent of Talking Heads, LCD Soundsystem, and 'Notorious'-era Duran Duran. The result is an album that is in perfect harmony with the prevailing mood of the times: a break from reality, the endless possibilities of a joyous life, and the affirmation and celebration of life as the world comes together again. Life Is Yours opens with a perfect opening to the bright and joyful title track, "Life Is Yours," which leads into the latest upbeat, pop singles "Wake Me Up" and "2AM," which have already been released. The band also tackles a variety of new sounds, including "Looking High," which incorporates the Balearic beats of club music from Ibiza, Spain; "Flutter," an experimental West African guitar groove; and "The Sound," which celebrates the hope of being able to dance live again.
