The first joint album by countertenor Philippe Jaroussky and guitarist Thibaut Garcia. It is named after a song by 20th century French composer Francis Poulenc, "The Guitar's Yose". But the works were carefully selected from a very wide range of cultural and stylistic sources, and the 22 songs on the album span 400 years and are by composers and lyricists from France, England, Austria, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, and the United States. The album is a journey between different cultures, different continents, different languages. The idea was to take risks... sometimes moving to completely different worlds between songs. When juggling between Renaissance music and the songs of Barbara, who was a famous French chanson singer, we can evoke very different colors. The music of the two of us is created uniquely with a palette of different colors, and we put a lot of thought into the album, but the most important thing is to sing from the heart as well," explained Philippe Jaroussky and Thibaut Garcia.
