The Bach Aria Soloists, a Baroque ensemble founded by violinist Elizabeth Sue Lane, offers a taste of the versatility and virtuosity of its four members. This all-female ensemble, whose instrumentation includes violin, soprano, keyboard, and cello, features works by Monteverdi, Handel, Mendelssohn, Bach, and the contemporary British composer Cecilia McDowall. Although the selections on this album are primarily solos by soprano Sarah Tannehill Anderson, the versatility and virtuosity of the four performers is on full display in this disc.
