Description:

The third in the series of "Beethoven & Shostakovich: The Complete Symphonies Recording Project" is the third son of the famous German conductor Kurt Sanderling, the conductor Michael Sanderling, who is currently a hot topic in Europe as of 2017, and his hand-picked Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra, Sony The "Beethoven & Shostakovich: The Complete Symphonies Recording Project" for Sony Classical with conductor Michael Sanderlinck, the third son of Kurt Sanderlinck, who is currently the focus of much attention in Europe. The third in the series combining the symphonies of these two composers, "the composers and the composers of the symphony, one of the foundations of Western music," is their first symphony, "No. 1". Shostakovich's "Symphony No. 1" is the first symphony by Shostakovich, who supported his family with part-time jobs and continued his studies while suffering financial hardship due to the death of his father. It was composed as his graduation project from the Leningrad Conservatory. Michael Sanderling's father, Kurt, had been a close friend of Shostakovich since his days in the Soviet Union, and this symphony was one of his favorite repertoire, having recorded it with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra. In Beethoven, on the other hand, Michael thoroughly adheres to a period performance style that is distinct from his father Kurt's profound interpretation of Beethoven, and seems to present new possibilities for interpretation of Beethoven, which has been performed to death. Using the relatively large size of a regular symphony orchestra, the orchestra's unique interpretation, with its fast tempo and light sound, brings out the transparent patterns woven by the individual voices, further expanding the possibilities of Beethoven performance. Michael Sanderling performed Beethoven's Ninth Symphony at the dedication of the Kulturpalast, the home of the Dresden Philharmonic, this spring after its complete renovation, and the performance was broadcast live to rave reviews. In addition to the musicality that he inherited from his father, Kurt, his fresh interpretation of music with careful attention to the string parts, which is unique to his cellist background, and his unique style that actively incorporates period playing styles, especially in the repertoire up to the early Romantic period, are gaining more and more acclaim. This album is the most recent incarnation of this style. The fact that this is not a live recording, but a session recording at the Luke Church in Dresden, which is well known for its excellent recordings, shows their enthusiasm.
