Release to Commemorate "Czech Year of Music 2024"! The Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Nétopil, recorded Dvořák's "Legend" and "Slavonic Rhapsody"! The Czech Philharmonic Orchestra continues its series of high-profile releases to commemorate the "Czech Year of Music 2024". This album features Dvořák's "Legend" and "Slavonic Rhapsody" with principal guest conductor Tomáš Netopil. The three Slavic rhapsodies were composed in 1878, the same year as the first collection of Slavic Dances, Op. 46, which brought Dvořák to international fame. They are composed with colorful orchestration on the melodies of charming folk dances. The original "Legend" consisted of 10 pieces for piano solo. It was later arranged for small orchestra. The beautiful melody, reminiscent of Slavonic dances, is very attractive. Tomáš Netopil was born in 1975 in Kroměříš in the eastern part of the Czech Republic. He has performed at the Salzburg Festival, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Staatskapelle Dresden.Since the 2013/14 season, he has been the General Music Director of the Essen Opera House and has appeared at the Dresden State Opera, the Opéra National de Paris, the Vienna State Opera, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Orchestre de Paris, and other prestigious orchestras and theaters. She has been active in both operas and concerts. In Japan, she will perform with the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra in November 2019 and November 2022. *Not available with Japanese obi.
