He was taught by his father, accordionist Eerfert van Amsterdam. He studied at the Fontys Academy of Fine Arts with Stefan Hussong, Mika Vayulinen, and others, where he received excellent results. Winner of the Princess Christina Competition, the Dutch National Competition, and the Royal Conservatory of The Hague Competition, she was awarded the Dutch Classical Talent Award in 2016. There are no accordion departments in Japanese music universities, but there are many in European music universities and conservatories. Many Japanese professional players also studied in Europe. Although it is often thought to have nothing to do with classical music, the accordion is recognized as a concert instrument in Europe, just like other instruments. They have very good technique in playing and taste in arranging music, and we look forward to their further success. (Tobu Shoji)
