1973 US Psychedelic Classic is now available on LP reissue! Opening with a melancholic backwards rotation, this 1973 album by brothers David and Herman Zarfuss is quite brawny, even though you'd think it would go straight into mellow psychedelic music. It has a very West Coast-like sense of speed, but in reality, it is more East Coast with Indianapolis. The vocals are a bit quirky, but the organ and guitars also have a crushed texture, and some songs are recommended for pre-hard rock fans. Overall, the songs are mainly folky, but there is an effective use of SE in them, which is a nice touch from a psychedelic point of view. The lyrics of all songs are written on the back cover, which is a nice touch. The band continued to play live until 1983.
