Melt Yourself Down, a unique new jazz band in the UK jazz scene, has released their long-awaited new album on DECCA, their first in two years! Ruth Goller(b,vo),Adam Betts(ds,vo),Zands Duggan(perc,vo) and produced by Ben Hillier(Nadine Shah, Depeche Mode, etc). Please understand that although this album is genre "alternative" rather than punk, rock, or jazz, we do not wish to eschew these genres, and given the band's history and story, we need to lean specifically toward jazz.Comments from the band regarding this work are below. (This is how it came to be.)" We learn to see our inability to conform as a strength, not a weakness. We don't fit the archetype - for too long this has felt like a problem. Marketing relies on archetypes, while poetry and art rely on using archetypes. As musicians, we have to deal with marketing, but we have the opportunity to say, "We don't fit," "We are in the gap," "We are not reprised by anyone but ourselves."
