Gustavo Dudamel was 23 years old when he won the first Gustav Mahler International Conducting Competition in 2004. This album was recorded when he was only 25 years old. The textures of the inner voices are clear, and there is no monotonous seasoning at all. The final movement of No. 7, which runs through at a blazing speed (6 min. 9 sec.) as if it were a festival, is a masterpiece. (C)RS
