The 2Pac biopic "All Eyez on Me" was released in the U.S. on June 16, 2017, and got off to a number one blockbuster start in the U.S., grossing ¥340 million at the June 15 U.S. advance screening box office. The film also performed well at the box office over the weekend, charting at No. 3 with box-office revenues exceeding approximately 3 billion yen. To commemorate the Japanese release of the film, a 2-CD best-of album containing most of 2Pac's songs used in the film is now available, containing 25 songs and selling over 5 million copies in the US alone, making it the best-selling rap album of all time. Only the Japanese edition includes English lyrics, new bilingual translation (Shiho Watanabe), and new liner notes (Machizo Hasegawa).
