On August 20, a tribute album featuring only the works of Kyohei Tsutsuzumi, the singer Hiromi Iwasaki's foster parent, was released as the latest in a series of popular cover albums that revive classic Japanese pop songs with a new charm in Hiromi Iwasaki's voice. An analog version of the album will be released soon. In addition to a wide chronological range of songs from "Ame no Yarara" to "Mermaid," the album also includes a wide variety of interesting selections, including hidden gems such as "Sentimental Blue" and a self-cover of "Lovers" from his album "Koibito-tachi (Lovers). The arrangements were also recorded with as few changes as possible from the originals, allowing the listener to enjoy Hiromi Iwasaki's voice as it was then. A duet with her sister, Yoshimi Iwasaki, is also included for the first time in nine years. The duet with Yoshimi this time is "Nigai Tears," a big hit sung in Japanese by three American women at the time that became a hot topic. The soulful number can be enjoyed with the voices of the Iwasaki sisters. (C)RS
