Like the previous album, it featured songs by "new soul" songwriters such as Danny Hathaway and Gene McDaniels, and the quiet, jazzy, piano-driven taste was maintained, but the addition of Chuck Rainey (bass) and other members of the King Curtis Band brought out more of his inner passion than on the previous album.
