Description:

The Beatles' last concert at Candlestick Park! Also the performance in Munich, Germany just before the Budokan! The Beatles' live series that tracks rare and previously unreleased live performances of the Beatles in chronological order. This 7th volume couples the Beatles' last concert at Candlestick Park in San Francisco in August 1966 with the Munich show in West Germany, one week before the Budokan concert! The world tour was a frenzy. The stage environment was so bad that the performance could not reach the audience and even the audience could not hear the band satisfactorily on the stage. On the other hand, the band continued to produce masterpieces such as "Rubber Soul" and "Revolver" while realizing the infinite possibilities of studio work due to the advancement of technology, and finally decided to put an end to their live performance activities. The final stop on the Big Stadium Tour was San Francisco on August 29, 1966, the last day of the U.S. leg of the tour. As a result, this was the Beatles' last live concert. At that time, live recordings were not made unless they were broadcast on the radio. The Beatles themselves understood that this was their last show, so they asked staff member Tony Barlow to record it on cassette, and miraculously, this last show was recorded. It was an odd show, a stage surrounded by cages in the middle of a huge baseball field. However, the Beatles played passionately, as if they were blown away. From "Rock 'n' Roll Music" with John's cool vocals to "She's a Woman" with Paul's fierce shouts, the Beatles seemed to have blown it out of the water. During "Babies in Black," a waltz with twin vocals by John and Paul, Paul, perhaps feeling that it was his "last show," stopped singing and shouted charmingly to the audience as he asked them to join in the chorus. This is a truly rare scene, and it is worth the price of this disc just to hear it. Also, John's electric accompaniment on "Yesterday" is very careful compared to the Budokan and Munich performances, and colors the final performance of this historical masterpiece as The Beatles.
