This compilation disc introduces the fascinating Mexican psychedelic cumbia "rebajada", which was born by chance. This is the definitive collection of cumbia numbers that were hits in Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Benesuela, Colombia, and other countries from the 1960s to the 1980s, and the Lebajada Mota mix that was played at the Sonidero at the time. The title track "Saturno 2000" is based on a 1972 recording by Los Santos of Peru, "Paga La Cuenta Sinverguenza," a 1977 recording by Manzanita, another Peruvian guitar hero, and the musician from Benesuela The album also features "Infinito," a 1963 recording by Hugo Blanco, a musician from Benesuela, as well as rare recordings that cannot be heard anywhere else.
