Opening the Door to the Radiance of “Psychedelic.” This magnificent compilation was born from a total dedication to “psychedelic”—a key term in the 1960s popular music scene. Kicking off with the classic “Morning Dew”—a song that inspired countless legendary performances by artists such as the Grateful Dead and Jeff Beck—the story unfolds around a core of “a sense of floating, subtle lyricism, and psychedelic hues.” It features Tim Rose’s version of “Hey Joe (You Shot Your Woman Down)”—the original to the song made famous by Jimi Hendrix— Jake Holmes’ “DAZED AND CONFUSED”—a song that inspired Led Zeppelin’s admiration—and appearances by legends such as Donovan, Love, and The Byrds. Overall, this is a superb collection where famous and lesser-known artists are masterfully interwoven. It features a lineup of excellent tracks, including Track 12 by The Beatles and Track 18, which symbolizes the meeting between a young Eiichi Ohtaki and Haruomi Hosono.
