The fifth new album from DRAKKAR, a veteran five-piece speed metal band from Belgium. The golden age of speed metal—powerful and full of speed—is reborn here. A five-piece speed metal band formed in Belgium in 1983. They recorded their first demo in 1987. This demo was produced by Rudy Leners (former drummer of the Scorpions). In 1988, the band recorded their debut album and signed with NewMusidisc, a label based in Paris, France. They released *XRATED*, which would later become a legendary album, and received high praise from critics. They then rapidly expanded their live activities and were selected as the opening act for European tours by major bands such as Queensrÿche, Metallica, Overkill, and Slayer. In 1999, they returned to the scene with the release of a five-track EP. After a hiatus, the band relaunched with a new lineup in 2011. In early 2012, the album *X-RATED* was remastered and re-released with two bonus tracks produced by Simone Mularoni (DGM). A new version of “Alone,” including a music video, was also released. In March 2013, original vocalist Fab “Reni” Vanberingen returned to the band. In October 2014, they recorded their second album, *Once Upon a Time in Hell*. Jonas Sanders (Pro-Pain) handled the drums on this album. They performed over 80 shows across Europe, sharing the stage with TokyoBlade, TysonDog, Lizzy Borden, and Tygers of Pan Tang, and also appeared at the “Power, Prog & Metal Festival” in Mons, Belgium—one of Europe’s largest indoor events. In 2016, they released their first live album, *Once Upon a Time in Hell Live*. However, tragedy struck the band shortly thereafter. Founding member Thierry Del Khan passed away suddenly while returning home from a concert. Amid deep sorrow, the band chose to carry on in his spirit. During the subsequent tour, they began working on new material. Adrian, the son of original drummer Tim Delval, joined the band on drums, and Jesus took over on bass. These sessions led to the creation of the album *Diabolical Empathy*. Following its release, the band toured extensively in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, and Germany, delivering notable performances—including serving as the opening act for Tank and Raven. In August 2021, they performed at the “Alcatraz Festival.” Subsequently, Reni and Richie left the band. From 2022 to 2025, despite repeated lineup changes, the band released three singles and music videos. They have now resumed activities with a new lineup featuring founding member Guy Davi (bass). In early 2026, the band welcomed back Reni (vocals) and signed with Wormhole Death Records to release their new album, *Invasion*. [Specifications] • Direct import, Japanese domestic specification
