The true value of Norichika Iimori is here! Norichika Iimori was born in 1963. He is an outstanding talent among mid-career Japanese conductors, and his activities in Europe since 2000 have been truly remarkable. He has been the Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Württemberg Philharmonic Orchestra in Reutlingen, Germany since September 2001. How fulfilling this combination is seems to be clearly demonstrated in this CD. The sound is clear and textured, the structure is clear and skillful, and the three-dimensional sound is born from the reading of the score. The sound is energetic, but never crude, and the attention to detail is sharp. In particular, this may be one of the definitive recordings of the original orchestral performance of Respighi's "Belkis, Queen of Sheba" Suite, which has traditionally been performed by brass bands only in abundance. Iimori is supported by the violin of Kazuhiro Takagi, who has been the principal concertmaster of this orchestra since 2002.It is immediately understandable that his musicality plays a part in spreading Iimori's intentions to the orchestra. Of course, he echoes the sensual solos in "Sierrazato".
