Many seaside locations in Latin America have miramar, which means "look at the sea" in Spanish, and the background music there is often bolero. Boleros are a romantic genre of Latin music that originated in Cuba and spread from Central American countries to North America. The band Miramar was formed to bring the tradition of boleros to the present day. The band is led by Puerto Rican singer Renaldo Alvarez and includes vocal duo Lola Ann Sin, who sings with a beautiful voice. The band, which has released albums on such prestigious Brooklyn indie labels as Barbès and Daptone, is now releasing a new album on the revived Ansonia label, a hall of fame for Latin music. The "sound" of the album is modern vintage soul, similar to that of Big Crown's works, but with the addition of elegant strings reminiscent of Artur Velocay.The first single "Un Astro" features a lustrous vocal duo, heavy string & funk~bolero rhythms, and even a bewitching organ, followed by "Juntos" with its loungey vibraphone and sabor (tasteful) vocals, and "En Mis Sueños" with its bright horn section that transitions from a soul sound to a bolero. The song "En Mis Sueños" is a perfect fusion of the rich Latin flavor and modern sound trends. This is already the best Latin album of '25. ???? Highly recommended for Latin fans and fans of Big Crown, as well as fans of Sven Wonder, Chin Bernardes, Leonardo Marquez, and others!
