Martin Stadtfeldt began playing the piano at the age of six and gave his first recital at the age of nine. His "Gortberg Variations" (2004) topped the German classical CD album charts, and he continues to make rapid progress. In recent years, his performances of Romantic works have also attracted much attention. This is a special Christmas album featuring Stadtfeld's own arrangements for piano and clavichord of famous European Christmas melodies, such as "Silent Night," "Karerai kokusaku kusasabi," "Mary Walks through a Forest of Thorns," and "From on High We Come," etc. Stadtfeld himself has also arranged these melodies for piano and clavichord. At the end of 2020, when no concerts could be held due to the pandemic, the sounds Stadtfeld delivered to his audience via social media in a "short musical evening" cheered up a large audience.This shared experience and his positive response to music gave him the idea for this new album. The opening piece, "Christmas Time," a meditative suite of 11 pieces composed by Stadtfeld himself, depicts the bright eyes and joyful anticipation of children at Christmas time. In addition, arrangements of traditional carols and psalms by classical composers ("From the Roots of Esai," "From on High We Come," etc.) give listeners a taste of the Christmas spirit. His brother, Stefan Stadtfeldt, guests on flugelhorn & trumpet. Sony Music
