Description:
The 100th anniversary of Mena's birth] Mena's Hinastera Vol. 2! Included Piano Concerto No. 2! The Spanish maestro Juanjo Mena has succeeded Janándrea Noseda as Chief Conductor of the BBC Philharmonic, and has been well-received for his "La Musica de España" series, which unearths music from his native Spain. He has pioneered not only Spanish but also Latin American programs, and his last album (CHAN 10884) was highly acclaimed, including being named Editor's Choice by Gramophone magazine, and now his second collection of Hinastera's orchestral works is here! American pianist Shine Wang, who has successfully recorded "American Piano Concertos (CHSA 5128)" and "Tchaikovsky & Khachaturian (CHSA 5167)," will play Hinastera's little-known Piano Concerto No. 2.And the exotic early ballet music of "Panambi" with the addition of the Manchester Women's Chorus. Be on the lookout for music by the great Argentine composer, starting with the 100th anniversary of his birth! A must for rare piano concerto fans too! Tokyo M-Plus
