New, previously unreleased recordings from the Grateful Dead’s vast live archive have been officially released. *MERRIWEATHER 6/30/85* captures the entire, breathtaking performance from June 30, 1985, at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. Available in two formats—a 3-CD set and a 4-LP vinyl set—this release is being made available to the general public as a standalone title from the 20-CD box set *SUMMERMAGIC1985*, originally exclusive to Dead.net. It features “Sugar Magnolia,” “Cryptical Envelopment,” and the famously brilliant rendition of “Shakedown Street,” among others. It uses the original Sony F1 tape recordings, was mastered by Grammy Award-winning engineer David Glasser, and produced by Legacy Manager and Audio Archivist David Lemieux. Capturing the moment when the musical power of this band—which has continued to spread messages of freedom, love, and peace for over half a century and is often referred to as “a cultural movement”—reached its peak, this live album is a must-listen for Deadheads.
