Mariah Carey’s 1995 smash-hit album *Daydream*—30th Anniversary Edition *Daydream (30th Anniversary)* (Iridescent Gold Vinyl) Mariah Carey, who visited Japan last year for the first time in about seven years, has released *Daydream (30th Anniversary)* to commemorate the 30th anniversary of her smash-hit album *Daydream*. Released in 1995, *Daydream* was her fifth studio album. Following the massive success of *Merry Christmas* in 1994, which marked the end of a chapter in her classic American pop sound, this ambitious album signaled the start of a new phase in her career. With the bold hip-hop track “Fantasy,” she became the first female artist in history to debut at No. 1 on the U.S. singles chart. Furthermore, her collaboration with Boyz II Men, “One Sweet Day,” also debuted at No. 1 on the same chart and went on to set the then-record for the longest run at No. 1, staying there for 16 consecutive weeks. Furthermore, “Always Be My Baby” also reached No. 1 on the same chart, achieving unprecedented success, and the album topped both the U.S. album chart and the Oricon album chart. It was a massive hit, selling over 27 million copies worldwide and 2.2 million copies in Japan. This release, *Daydream (30th Anniversary)*, includes the 12 original tracks, plus remixes and rare B-sides on LP 2, and the complete recording of the 1995 Madison Square Garden concert on LP 3. This marks the first time the audio from that concert has been released on vinyl.
