In creating the album, he prioritized emotional expression, storytelling, and his own vocal performance. The album unfolds with a rich, colorful sound influenced by Fela Kuti’s Afrobeat, as well as rhythms from Brazilian music, soul, disco, and Latin American music. The album was produced by J. Lloyd and Lydia Kitto of the British band Jungle. Lydia Kitto added color to the tracks with her exceptional sense of melody and meticulous harmonies, while J. Lloyd handled production, arrangements, and sound design. The result is a cohesive album that feels as though it were created by three musicians who shared a common vision.
