San Francisco-based Chicano Soul artist Jess Sylvester, aka Marinero, has completed a new album. La La La", an album unabashedly expressing himself on tape and created with new inspiration, released on Hardly Art, a subsidiary of Sub Pop. Guests:Eduardo Arenas (Chicano Batman), Chris Cohen (Deerhoof), Shanna Cleveland (La Luz) Jess Sylvester aka Marinero will release her new album "La La La" worldwide on the Sub Pop-owned label Hardly Art. The 12-track album includes the previously released single "Taquero" as well as "Dream Suite," "Sea Changes," and "Cruz. The album title, "La La La," playfully named after both the city that shaped Latin soul and sophisticated pop, is both polysemic and endlessly fresh. Recorded at Savannah, a Los Angeles studio, the album was co-produced by Sylvester and Jason Kick and features Eduardo Arenas (Chicano Batman), Chris Cohen, and Shana Cleveland (La Luz). Featuring Eduardo Arenas (Chicano Batman), Chris Cohen and Shana Cleveland (La Luz). Born to Mexican and Irish American parents and settled in San Francisco, Sylvester's preconceived notions of his sound and style were sometimes incorrect. With La La La, he both enters and exits these preconceptions. He is a Californian, making music shaped by the diverse encounters and experiences that are a central part of California.Never before has an album expressed itself so fully and unabashedly on tape as "La La La," and Sylvester's newly inspired production will deliver a new take on him.
