This album is a collection of rare chamber music works that showcase Niccolò Paganini’s talents as a composer. In 1817, Paganini submitted to the publisher Ricordi not only his *24 Caprices* but also a collection of sonatas for violin and guitar, as well as chamber music works featuring the guitar. However, due to a lack of performance opportunities at the time, these works—with the exception of the *Caprices*—were largely forgotten for a long time. In recent years, they have been reevaluated, and the artistic value of these works is once again receiving attention. The sonatas included in this album were composed during Paganini’s time in Lucca from 1804 to 1808. They condense diverse character and advanced technique into a concise two-movement structure. With the violin taking the lead and the guitar providing support, the refined beauty of the melodies stands out. The performers are Bin Huang, a highly accomplished violinist who has won first prize at the Wieniawski, Paganini, and ARD Munich international competitions, and Michele Trenti, who is also active as a conductor and serves as Artistic Director of the Genoa Paganini Festival.
