Centered around the British brass quintet “Onyx Brass”—which received the praise “Bravo, Onyx!” from the late legendary British trumpeter Philip Jones after he heard their performance—this project features a large-scale brass ensemble that includes guest musicians on flute, French horn, trumpet, trombone, timpani, and percussion, all conducted by John Wilson. This collection of fanfares, spanning the past century and a half and featuring numerous world premiere recordings by British composers, The dazzling, dynamic, and exhilarating roar of the brass resonates throughout the vast acoustics of St. Jude-on-the-Hill Church.
