Marina Staneva, Bulgaria’s talented pianist! The music of Bulgaria, her homeland! Marina Staneva, recipient of the 2020 Young Steinway Artist Award! She performs works by Pancho Vladigerov, the master of Bulgarian music! Bulgarian pianist Marina Staneva graduated from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, where she studied under Philip Jenkins, Pamela Lydiard, and Alysdale Hogarth. She is considered a rising star, having won the Sam Hatching Piano Prize in 2018, been named a Britten-Pears Young Artist in 2019, and awarded the title of Young Steinway Artist in 2020. Her playing is exceptional, combining a rich, warm forte with a crystalline pianissimo. This debut album features works primarily by Pancho Vladigerov, a composer representative of Bulgaria, the country of her roots. Pancho Vladigerov (1899–1978) was a Bulgarian composer and pianist. Known for his prolific output, he composed works across many genres, including operas, orchestral pieces, and concertos, with a particularly large body of piano works.
