Coli is rapidly gaining worldwide recognition for his compelling, unconventional interpretations and the clarity of his tone. After winning first prize at the 2011 Salzburg International Mozart Competition and the gold medal at the 2012 Leeds International Piano Competition, he quickly rose to prominence as a pianist. For this album, he has thoroughly researched Mozart, whose music he has been studying since the age of six. These performances are the result of Federico Colli’s reflections—drawing not only on detailed biographical accounts of Mozart but also on his letters, the political context of his time, and insights into Mozart’s thoughts and way of life.
