In anticipation of the 100th anniversary in 2018, a compilation album featuring the Royal Air Force Band is now available! Centered on the “Central Band”—the core of the RAF’s diverse military bands—this collection includes recordings by the “College Band” from the officer training schools, the “Regimental Band” of the RAF Regiment, and the “Squadronaires”—the RAF’s big band (dance orchestra)—are all featured in this compilation. It also, of course, includes famous film scores with an air force theme, such as Goodwin’s “The Flying Tramp” and “633 Squadron,” as well as Walton’s “The Air Force” and “Spitfire.” This special two-disc set includes new recordings from 2017 by the Royal Air Force Band—one of the world’s top military wind orchestras in terms of both skill and popularity—as well as previously unreleased tracks.
