"The Rite of Spring" by Bavze and Guy! Piano Duo Transcriptions! Jean-Ephraim Bavze, one of Chandos’s principal pianists and a giant of French pianism. Joining him on this “Collection of Transcriptions for Two Pianists” is the renowned French pianist François-Frédéric Guy, making his Chandos debut! Bartók’s “Two Images,” originally an orchestral work, arranged for two pianos by Zoltán Kocsis. Debussy’s “Jeux,” originally ballet music, arranged for two pianos by Bavze himself. (Incidentally, Bavze also recorded the solo piano version of these works for *The Complete Piano Works of Debussy, Vol. 5* [CHAN10545].) And Stravinsky’s *The Rite of Spring*, arranged for four-hand piano by the composer himself. These three works, all of which were premiered in 1913, have been transcribed for four-hand piano and two-piano versions and are vividly performed by two French virtuosos. Tokyo M-Plus
