Description:
As a summer resort, Switzerland was visited by various composers and performers, and in August 1938, a gala concert conducted by Toscanini was held in front of Wagner's residence on the shores of Lake Lucerne. Since then, numerous music festivals and seminars have been held, attracting many music fans. Of course, there are music festivals with famous performers, but most of them are held with their own unique concepts, such as fostering young artists, contemporary music, and a place to introduce rarely performed works and composers. This 13-CD box collects live recordings from recent concerts (2003-2016) at festivals such as Lucerne, Verbier, Gstaad, Locarno, Ascona, Solisberg, Davos, and Ernen, which have made their mark in Switzerland's many, many summer music festivals They are. Including veterans such as Argerich, Keesin, and Levine, as well as young artists such as Yuja Wang, Gabetta, Chamayou, Piemontage, Kadesha, and others, this box offers a white-hot live performance.◎Orchestral MusicJeremy Laurel & Le Cercle de Larmonie, who have released groundbreaking Mozart opera recordings on the Alpha label every year for the past several years, Mozart's three late symphonies, Mahler 5 with the Verbier Festival Orchestra conducted by Levine and the Verbier Chamber Orchestra conducted by Schiff. The Webern and Neuwirth by the Estonian female conductor Markki and the Rihm and Ligeti by the contemporary composer Matthias Pincher are also intriguing combinations. The ◎ concerto, above all, Bach's four Bach concertos in A minor, featuring Argerich, Kysin, Levine, and Pletnov, is a standout. Beethoven's Beethoven No. 3 by the talented Piemontage + Norrington + Chamber Orchestra of Europe is also an unpredictable combination, as there has been no recording of Beethoven by Piemontage yet.◎ Chamber MusicSol Gabetta and Bertrand Chamayou, who gave an unprecedented duo performance on their Chopin album released by Sony Classical in 2015, perform Shostakovich and Rachmaninoff (Shostakovich is Sol's specialty, and he also recorded with Urzuleasa and Grimaud), Lynn Harrell and Yuja Wang's Rachmaninoff, and Joshua Bell and Kavakos' Ysaÿe sonata. The program includes Mozart's Requiem by MacLeish + Gabriel Conte, Bostridge's Schumann and Vaughan Williams, and Regula Muehlemann's beautiful Purcell arias. Sony Music
