Russian pianist Olga Scheps performed Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 at the subscription concert of the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra in August 2016 and was acclaimed for her sensitive and bold performance. The talented young lady, who became widely known when she shared the Echo Classical Prize for Young Pianists with Alice-Sarah Ott, was a student of the famous teacher Girilov, and Joachim Kaiser, a leading critic of German classical music, said, "Olga Scheps is a true discovery. I have never heard such a wonderful performance as hers. Schepps has played Chopin, Schubert, and Satie with her unique interpretation. At last, she presents an album of Tchaikovsky, the essence of Russian music, which is the mainstay of her repertoire. In the Piano Concerto No. 1, the young Spanish conductor Carlos Dominguez-Nieto plays brilliantly with the WDR Symphony Orchestra of Cologne.This is her first recording of a concerto with full orchestra, but her brilliant technique and centripetal expression are unique to her.
