Daniele Rustioni

Description:

This is the first Sony Classical album by Daniele Rustioni, the young Maestro born in Milan in 1983, who the world has been watching with keen interest, conducting the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and the Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra in June 2016. Since his debut at the Royal Opera House in 2011, Rustioni has appeared at many of the world's most prestigious theaters, including La Scala in Milan and the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, and in 2014 he was appointed Chief Conductor of the Orchestre Provincial della Toscana, and in 2017 he will assume the position of Chief Conductor of the Opera National de Lyon. He is currently the Principal Conductor of the Tuscany State Orchestra. He has been called "Italy's three young conductors" along with Andrea Battistoni and Michele Mariotti, and his popularity and presence are rapidly increasing. Rustioni's program featured a rare collection of works by Italian composer Giorgio Federico Gedini (1892-1965). Ghedini was born in Cuneo, Italy, and studied organ, piano, and composition in Turin before attending the Conservatory of Bologna. He studied composition under Marco Enrico Bossi. He taught composition at the Turin Conservatory from 1918 to 1937 and at the Parma Conservatory from 1937 to 1941, and then moved to the Milan Conservatory, where he served as director from 1951 to 1962. He was a distinguished educator, and his students included Claudio Abbado and Luciano Berio. As a composer, Guedini was a great admirer of Renaissance and Baroque music, arranging many works by Frescobaldi, Monteverdi, Gabrieli, and others, and was greatly influenced by Renaissance and Baroque music. He wrote his works by blending ancient musical styles and modern sensibilities in his own unique way. This is a characteristic of Rustioni's music. Rustioni adds deep figuration and lyrical beauty to Ghedini's music and shaves the splendor of his works anew. Sony Music
