It has been 25 years since "Listen Without Prejudice Vol.1/Listen Without Prejudice Vol.1" was released. Newly remastered and released in analog format! Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1" is George's second solo album, and was arranged, produced, and written entirely by George himself. The backdrop to this album was the lone struggle for personal and artistic freedom in the history of 90's pop music, and the overwhelming success of his 1987 solo debut, FAITH, made George one of the few artists capable of selling millions of records on a global scale. However, George himself did not want to become a "24-hour pop star" who was always in the limelight.This led to a conflict between George and the label, but he decided to take matters into his own hands, and "Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1" topped charts around the world and became a multi-platinum album. The album also reached #1 in the UK, surpassing "FAITH" and going 4 x platinum. Above all, it was the work that paved the way for a global superstar to accomplish something unprecedented. A quarter of a century later, George and Sony have long since reconciled. Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 remains an extraordinary and timeless work. From the protest songs "Praying For Time" and "Mother's Pride," which still ring true today, to the autobiographical "Freedom 90" and the intimate "Cowboys & Angels," this is music with which George Michael felt truly connected. and with whom he truly felt a strong connection.
